24-Hour Comic
July 31, 2002

My comic is up at Altbrand's site. If you click on the cover above it'll take you to the first page of my comic. Be sure to hit home or go here to see all the other great entries. Oh and if the links don't work, let me know (mital@earthlink.net)...I can't expect them to host those pages forever. In the event that they need the space/bandwidth for something else then I'll host my 24-hour comic on this site.

This 24-hour comic was done as part of an Altbrand event. The picture below is the cover I did in the last few minutes of the 24-hours. Originally this was in sequence with the Sarasen Fusion comic and is the reason why the second page of SF jumps two weeks. I decided to move it to its own page to make Sarasen Fusion read without interruption. As of this writing they haven't put my comic up. When they do I'll link to it. In the meantime click on the cover to visit Altbrand and see the other comics that were done as part of the event.

Ah! the second week already. To the two or so people who may check for a new page, sorry no new page this week. Why? It's all Scott McCloud and Altbrand's fault. You see I was somehow (hypnosis?) ensnared into doing a 24-hour comic. So this Saturday/Sunday were spent working on that. I only had 15 pages (and a lame cover, pictured above) done when the 24 hours ended. It was at a good stopping point so I chose the Neil Gaiman version of noble failure (stop when 24 hours are up). I've just scanned in and sent the pages to Altbrand. I know the deadline is the 24th [June 2002], so I suppose they'll put up the pages in the week or two following. When they do that I'll link to it.

It was a fun, grueling, 24 hours of pure torture. Thanks to Scott McCloud for coming up with the idea [of a 24 hour comic] and to Altbrand for getting us organized.

In other news, I didn't really have time to revamp the website into frames so I just added some simple text links to go back and forth between pages. You can also advance to the next page by clicking on the current page, and you can go back to the index by clicking on the Sarasen Fusion title. The way school is going right now, I don't know if I'm going to be able to revamp anything this quarter so I may have to resign myself to the table format for now. Once I get to more than five pages I'll put in some popups to allow for more convenient navigation.
